...I don’t get the opportunity to watch practices and see how he is there (does he just go through the motions? Bust his tail on every drill? Etc) but like has been mentioned in this thread and in many others like i have seen his flashes of success in a handful of games this season and wondered why we don’t get to see more of it.

The underlying problem I think is a lack of consistency on his part due somewhat to the versatility of his game. You might say his strengths contribute to his weaknesses. Some games his scoring gives us a big shot in the arm, another time its his passing, while other games it’s his post defense (sometimes these contributions can flip from the 1st half to the 2nd). He’s a really utility guy but not the master necessarily of any of it to the degree that you can count on it with reliability from one game to the next.

It might just boil down to the fact that he’s kind of a Magic 8 ball of answers when what the coach really needs in a particular moment is a specific answer. He has other guys he knows can give him the answer he needs in a particular situation (for those Frank Bartley fans here I think he fell into the same situation).
