you can't fairly judge a recruiting class until at least a few years
after you've seen them play. Otherwise, you're just judging it off of what a few talent evaluators at the recruiting sites think. And even they only evaluate a tiny fraction of the HS talent.

For example, Ed Lamb has a proven track record of finding unevaluated talent that has NFL potential. Using recruiting rankings as the sole judge essentially gives Ed zero credit for that talent.

What you want in a coach is an "A" level talent evaluator. The only way to fairly judge that is to see what his players can do once they get on campus. I realize that takes patience. But there's no short cut to that process.
