lol. We are not doing similar to UCONN, particularly the amounts
in questions. Sure, BYU Athletics naturally gets some allocated tuition and fees. But no Church or general university funds. They have been asked to be self-sufficient as Th has explained on numerous occasions.

But anyone following the UCONN story knows that their subsidy from state and university funds is well beyond that normal tuition allocation and fees. Its been a national story for a few years now with the UCONN faculty and others, including legislators, seriously questioning what UCONN is doing. The UCONN subsidy has grown over the years to be one of the highest in the country at over 31 million that now accounts for nearly 40% of their "revenue." Its what they need to pay their out-of-control expenses.

BYU does get corresponding tuition allocation and student fees but hardly similar to what is going on at UCONN. Without that P-5 invite UCONN was trying to get, their subsidies are not sustainable according to the news stories.

BYU's revenue is pretty remarkable for a non-P5 program. By contrast, with full P-5 money and state subsidy Utah makes about 7 million more than BYU. Boise, with their sweet heart TV deal, makes about 36 million in total revenue.
