I believe it's because the schools report the revenue that they
have received, to the Dept of Ed., by the end of the school or calendar year (depending on the accounting method they use). I think the state audit reflects all the revenue that they have earned for that year, even if the funds have not been received by the end of the accounting period. The report isn't published until the following January. I suspect that the audit isn't begun until early fall, by the UU will have received all the conference distribution from the previous school year.
