A lot of schools have these and on-campus recruiting assistance is just something basically every support staff member does. If that's all they did it would likely be called player personnel analyst or something along those lines. These are straight up offensive and defensive analysts and likely not for newbies because that's still what GA spots are for. Hadley was just a GA. Maybe at BYU they have to accept guys with GA-type experience, IOW none, but maybe not considering they had Roderick last year and he's an experienced coach. They should be able to find guys with experience. It definitely shouldn't go to new GA type guys. They're doing game-planning, not just recruiting assistant stuff. Those are student/recent grad type jobs.
A lot of these positions are also filled by former coaches who want the pressure off or are older and getting out of it. Someone like a Kaufusi or Tidwell.
About time BYU is coming along and joining the club. They started getting there with additional support staff like DPP, play development, etc. About time they added analysts.
