To let them actually use the money they have.

Hopefully the bad season was a blessing in disguise. So far it appears to be the case as far as hires on paper. To get a quick glimpse of how bad it was... Our new RB coach with his whole 4 years of experience, that's more than the last 3 RB coaches combined. And that's just one coach.
Jump to support staff, it was put together similar to the offensive coaches. Dudes who weren't even in CFB before being hired. They're moving in the right direction, but they've been behind because BYU is cheap and is likely one of those places where they think you should feel privileged to come work for less, or won't create an extra position at all.
