Reinvested in what? Bigger arenas? BYU has athletic resources bigger
than any school in the conference. The biggest arena, etc., etc.... where does that money get
BYU in the WCC? Perennial third place.
Gonzaga is correct in thinking that it has outgrown the WCC. Even though it has a very high profile, it’s basketball only athletic prowess, and geographic location, limits the opportunities for change. The MWC is a generally higher profile league, with the potential for other teams to up their game to match the Zags.
If the Zags went to the MWC, I would expect to see others in the conf put more emphasis on basketball.

It's a reasonable request by Gonzaga but one I assume the small athletic programs of the WCC can't live with.
