I was reffering to his being demoted or fired from a similar position 3 times in

in the a 7 year span.  Roderick was Co-OC in 2010.  He was immediately demoted after the season.  He was passing game coordinator (PGC) from 2012 to 2013 before he was demoted again.  He was given another chance in 2015 to be the Co-OC.  This time they didn't demote him, they just fired him.

Then BYU hires him as PGC.  A position simliar to the one at which he failed enough to get demoted from or fired 3 times in a 7 year period.

BYU also hired him as the QB coach.  Rodericks QBs averaged 197 yards per game.  Detmer's QBs averaged 196 yards per game.

Over the 2 years Fesi Sitake was QB coach (and OC as well), his QBs averaged 40 more passing yards per game than Roderick's QBs did.  Sitake's QBs also had more Passing TDs in his 2 years as QB coach than Roderick's did in all 3 of the years he coached the position.

I love BYU football and support my team.  I would have been thrilled with Roderick as a WR coach.  However, as a QB coach and PGC/Co-OC, he has a poor track record.  That doesn't mean he won't be a good coach, it just means that to do so he will have to succeed in a position where he has failed several times before.
