I helped cut and sand. I drilled the holes the weights and helped him glue on additional weights when were still light.
I put the wheels on because even I couldn't do it without breaking the stupid pre drilled slots and had to glue those suckers on. My kid did about 3/4ths of the paint- he wanted a circle with a number in it painted on the top so my wife painted the number on the top.
Over all the cuts were uneven, the car was unbalanced and the paint job was decent. None of hte cars in our derby were super polished superbly well made vehicles. The most important part was that my kid had fun.
