Well, they were neighborhood cats, not strays, and he would laugh uncontrollably
when he told us. He also used to put little tomb stones by the dead cats with things like RIP Fluffy...
So yes, I was a little frightened.
The lack of remorse thing came to mind. I'm pretty sure that's a bad trait to have in a roommate.
