For example I learned the word to mean basically the B word and all of the Mexicans that tried to teach me bad words said that’s what it meant. But I had a Colombian companion that said it mean gay. So from what I understand, and like I said it can be different based on region, it’s not anti gay in Mexican Spanish but it is in other South American countries. I did hear a version of it mean gay though so maybe that also gets people worked up?
