I think the worst thing that could happen to an Independent BYU was last season...
Interest, prior to last season, was already waning a bit. Last year put a nail in the coffin... not the final nail... but it's certainly a nail that isn't needed.
More and more people each year seem to jump away from the Independence bandwagon. and you can bet that more will be done with it after this season. You don't see many, if at all, people that hate Independence and change their mind and like it. You see a lot more wanting out of it.

Actually, thanks to health problems from where they went, they're coming back early. They are back on September 1st.
