are split? There's maybe one or two fanbases in the nation who can have that luxury and have it not sound entirely insane but only a little insane. BYU is near the bottom of the list in the nation. And I am not one of those "we can't let ____ go because there are no replacements" guys. It's not about the replacement. It's about a reasonable expectation for the industry.

Fans like to fart out their mouth before they think. #1, if you fire a guy with one losing season out of two, who in the world do you think would touch BYU? They'd say wow, this school with already very challenging obstacles now has the guts to fire guys in an industry like this after the slightest sign of trouble, with no room for repair. Most P5's couldn't get away with that. BYU would probably never hire a quality guy again.

It's just a bit strange to see so many think he's maxed out after one sign of trouble. No room for growth. No room to fix mistakes and grow like virtually any position on earth. And at a place like BYU. Pretty gutsy fans. They're few. But they're clueless.

If it's one more season, absolutely. But the talk after one bad season is complete nonsense and there's no logical justification. Michigan State just went to the playoff and then immediately after won 3 games, including a loss to this awful Mr. Sitake. Michigan State fans have way more right to complain about things.
