I think this is not unlikely
Big 12 dissolves, with Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and TCU moving to the PAC-12, Kansas and Kansas State to the Big 10, possibly West Virginia to the ACC. Four 16 team conferences, with a four, or possibly 8 team playoff. FCS essentially pushed down to a de facto division 3, G5 become the new FCS/division 2.
