I don’t care for independence as a long term solution but it was...
...better than staying in the MWC. The MWC was suffocating with it’s terrible TV deal. There are things BYU has benefited from via independence that they wouldn’t have been able to do in the MWC and there are things that have not been good about independence. The MWC is a slowly dying conference. Getting into a conference would be good, just not the MWC with Craig Thompson still the commish.
It seems Indy has been better for BYU fans who live abroad (more games on ESPN and BYUtv) but harder on local fans that live in close proximity to LES (terrible home schedule).
