The purpose was that the partner had a stigma associated with Mormons that they would leave Utah, come work somewhere fancy/different for a couple years, and that they would all go back to Utah. Despite me telling him that I'm not from there, that my wife is not from there, and that I don't really like it there, he has told me 3 times now this summer that he has that concern.

The other interns here are from Florida and New Hampshire. He has not expressed anything similar to them. So it's some Mormon stigma he has.
