Out of all the kids in my HS graduating class, I can only think of 3 who left TX
- One girl desperately wanted to get away from her parents, so she moved to Alaska to create as much distance as possible.
- This other dude went to Purdue for some reason.
- Another wanted to fulfill his lifelong dream of being in the Navy, so he went to the Naval Academy.
And then the other 98% went to Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Baylor, UofH, North Texas, SMU, or community college. I once asked a girl from HS if she would ever consider leaving the state for any reason. She looked at me funny and was like, "Why would I? My family is here, my friends are here, my job is here, this is the only place I've ever known."
