We did pad our stats with WAC and MWC schedules....

FWIW, I believe that Boise State has followed BYU's recipe for football success for the past 15 years or so. Beat up on a bunch of WAC or MWC teams, rack up wins and conference championships and get lots of votes and rankings. Win a high-profile game or two and then perform well in a decent bowl game.

Hard to knock that model, as it worked for BYU and now Boise State.
