I'm not singing the praises of Independence. Far from it. I know it's not sustainable, as I've said above. The difference of opinion is whether it benefits the program more to fight like heckll (new word) from where we are until the next realignment round (my argument), or go to a conference immediately and build/re-build from there (your view).
Despite what some are saying here, I don't think there are any singing the praises of independence. If there are any, they are very few in number. Like you, I (and EVERYONE ELSE on this board) wish we'd have gotten in the Big12, and that we did whatever it took to get there when we could have. Hindsight really is 20/20. It's just a difference of opinion as to what to do now that we're here.
And, for what it's worth, I think there are a lot of rational people on this board who disagree with your position. Maybe they don't ALL have their heads in the sand? Maybe you aren't the only one who sees the light?
