Basically, Fresno and Nevada along with the rest of the 2010 WAC signed an MOU to stay put and welcome all non-football BYU teams starting in 2011. When the MWC caught wind of this and just hours before the WAC-BYU deal was to be announced, they invited Fresno, Nevada, and USU to the MWC. USU refused to go back on its commitment, but apparently Nevada and Fresno had no problem going back on their promise. They accepted the MWC invite.

This scuttled the WAC-BYU deal and is how we ended up in the WCC and USU got caught holding the bad.
