As you may recall, I post the QB stats each week. Here are this week's stats and my commentary:
Zach adds a new dimension to the offense with dual threat capabilities and the ability to throw a deep ball. He looked pretty good and showed some nice touch on the deep balls. He releases quickly. He didn't make many poor decisions, which is impressive for a freshman, though it would've been better to throw the ball out of bounds rather than run out for a loss repeatedly. But at least he didn't force something and cause a turnover more than the one pick. The O-line did a nice job for the most part and the run game was humming, which made for an easier day.
This game was most comparable to McNeese State in terms of runs vs. throws, and Zach performed really well. Excited to see how he progresses.
