Hardships
Payton verbally committed to Ohio State.

Hardship to keep his commitment. Signed with BYU

After mission 60 pounds overweight.

Hardship to get in shape. Asked coaches to redshirt.

Didn’t play the way coaches requested of him.

Hardship that he didn’t get all the playing time he requested.

Transferred because he thought Coaches were unfair.

Requested hardship from NCAA to waive redshirt year and play immediately.

NCAA did not agree he had any hardships and denied request.

If Payton would have stayed at BYU, worked hard on his game and did what the coaches asked him to do he has the talent to start this year and next year. He would be given the freedom to shoot threes under Quincy’s new offense.

Sometimes players think everything is a hardship in their lives and do not work hard enough to earn their position. There are consequences to every decision.
