Joining the Pac12 has been a borderline failure for Utah. Excluding the money, their bowl games have sucked, rankings aren't great overall, as well as their national notoriety is poor. The fans haven't been able to watch due to the hostage situation called the Pac12 Network, more out-of-state students, and tuition has grown faster than that of any instate programs as well as other Pac12 schools. 4* and 5* will always choose USC/Stanford over Utah, better weather there too, better NFL prospects else where. KWhit also beats the crap out of his players, they have terrible injury rates and great season/career ending injuries.

Yes, Utah has the money and superior 'floor' than BYU. But in all other respects, it hasn't worked out.
