Well...

First, you seem to be operating under the assumption that all "P5 money" is the same.  It's not.  The Big12 pays out $36 million per year based on TV contracts, and that is projected to be $40 million starting this year.  But that's just a part of the total.  Texas then earns $15 million for the LHN, and much more on merchandising, ticket sales, parking, concessions and other stuff.  TCU earns about $1 million on its 3rd tier rights and far less on those other categories.  A&M claims to earn more than any other school, but that's b.s. - it's Texas that does.  P5 money varies.

Second, the reason TCU was favorably considered for expansion was because, from 2008 to 2011, we got better TV ratings in Texas than A&M did.  And we were being considered to replace A&M.  We therefore "moved the needle" in that specific time and circumstance.  We still outperform A&M when we have Top 10 teams, and that has occured 3 out of the 7 years we've been in the Big12.  Why do you say we don't?  The figures are the figures.  We've been on national over-the-air networks multiple times in the past few years as well as ESPN, FS1and the main cable platforms.  Whether you think so or not, TCU has vastly increased its national profile (although we're still certainly not a blueblood and will never sniff the playoff in the 4-team invitational set-up unless we are undefeated).

P5 schools are not on an equal footing and never have been and never will be.  Why are BYU fans so hung up on that label?  They didn't used to be.

Good look in your bowl!  TCU has 1 W on the blue - does BYU?  (Watch out for the remnants of birds who stupidly dive bombed onto the "turf."
