You don't get to count med center, auxiliary, or for profit revenue. Maybe you
need to get a clue. Appropriations from the State exceed tuition revenue by a wide margin.
Ratio of State appropriations to student tuition is what we are talking here, not the other revenue that flows right through (including Federal Grants and Contracts), almost all of which is subsidized and none of which goes to Fund Balance. If you include fees from students it's about 50-50.
Main point is the claim that the athletic department is "self supporting" when it makes no contribution to the University admin services is misleading.
