They all say that....
none of them have the will to do it.

The dems try to pretend they have some sort of moral high ground on it because they can always claim that if we just raise taxes even more that the budget will get balanced. Of course we know that is false because they always advocate increased spending so even if the false notion that raising taxes would balance the budget were correct it wouldn't actually happen because they would want to raise spending even higher meaning another tax increase would be needed to cover that. It would be a never ending cycle.

The GOP is to the point they don't even pretend any longer. They cut taxes and increase spending because they know that it is politically impossible to cut spending for anything other than the military and they aren't willing to do that. Not that a cut in military spending would balance the budget anyway but they aren't willing to do it even if it would.

And of course no one, and I mean no one, is willing to cut entitlements and those are by far the single biggest causes of the deficit and debt. Nothing else, not even military spending, comes close to what those cost. No one if going to advocate cutting those.
