Went in through the back of my knee. Ballooned the vein to allow a catheter to be inserted along with an EKOS probe. The catheter deliver TPA (or clot buster meds) and the probe would vibrate. This went on for over 24 hours. Doctor then went in and using tools broke up the clot. Hurt like crazy when the Morphine-like meds wore off and he was attacking the clot just above my groin. Nurse had to run over and administer some more happy juice. But zero pain meds other than during the two procedures.
