Weber is the one who recruited the thin OL; Anae was bringing back the bigger
boys. And the TE and FB were a function of the skill players they had. It's hard to argue against the success of his system with Taysom and Jamaal. And don't bring up the injury history because one of those was on Doman's watch. And the rest were more or less flukey or Taysom's own doing. It is well documented that the coaching staff pleaded with him to slide. Even in the midst of the option read, when Taysom went down, Christian Stewart came in and ran a really good and really different offense than Taysom. The tight ends got more involved at that time too. And Tanner wasn't running a read option offense either. There were still plenty of talent in the program to win 8 or 9 games minimum each of 2016 and 2017. And whatever was missing would likely have been filled in from the JC ranks.

By the way, Doman was on Bronco's watch. And following the 2012 season Bronco rectified that issue just like nearly every other weakness during his tenure. Every coach makes mistakes and has weaknesses. But he had a solid track record of rebounding and fixing those mistakes. But he managed to keep a winning program and go bowling even when it seemed like things were getting off track. Kalani doesn't have much of a track record yet and hasn't built up much margin for error. But one sure fire way to bring down the wrath on your head is to take a proud program for a nose dive. Even if he manage to win 6 games in year two, it wouldn't have been this bad. But losing to the likes of ECU and UMass? Come on.

And as for Sitake, I don't see how you can say the major mistakes are behind him. Even this past year, he made some really puzzling coaching decisions. We frequently saw the deer in the head lights look and there was no communication at all when things were going wrong. He totally left it up to his rookie coordinators to sink or swim. But most of all his leadership skills are sorely lacking. He frequently through offensive coaches and players under the bus even when the defense played poorly too and contributed just as much to some of the losses.
