But Imagine Dragons illustrates how bad pop music is now. I'm old enough to remember when a band was judged not just by its music but by whether or not a bad could repeat their "sound" live. ]When you rely heavily on studio production to make your sound, IMO, you are not a good band. I will give props to ID only because at least they did not pipe in their sound, nor did they auto-tune their voices to sound good, but my goodness they were awful last night.
I am not an ID fan, and I do not think they will ever be included with some of the great bands or singers in history. Maybe I do not have a descerning enough ear, but I just don't think they do anything that is special, whether it be in lyrics, or with their sound, and in fact, in several songs, they seem to use distortion intentionaly as part of their music, which I do not find pleasing to the ear.
