and the holding call that called back his long pass will give teams something to worry about. Not even the ones that worked- but still make the defense account for him. He does not run every time he is QB. He does not just block when he is slot receiver, etc. They have to plan for him- and not just as a wildcat one trick pony.
I agree with your last sentence whole heartedly- His presence on the field still creates issues, and as a change up player, it slows that defense down just enough because it is not predictable.
The Saints is the perfect place for him just because of Sean Payton and the fact that Brees is not a prima donna that gripes about someone else getting some spotlights
