...deep on a fly route where he would have been wide open for a TD if Brees had been able to get the ball there is enough to keep defenses assigning DBs to cover Taysom when he lines up in the slot - or even as a TE. Having Taysom execute a perfectly-thrown deep ball on a "wildcat" formation where he typically uses a RPO and runs it will keep defenses honest knowing that he could carve them up through the air if they stack the box when he's in the QB position.
The fact that the two plays were back-to-back, one with him running 50+ yards downfield (and then back to the huddle), and the other with him throwing a perfect strike for a TD (called back on holding) is freakishly impressive.
