Although I would have suspected he was guilty, it's easy to say you would have
convicted him knowing what we know now.
Cops didn't arrest him because they didn't think he would be convicted in court. Not because they didn't suspect him...
At the time though, I'd have a hard time convicting a man strictly based on circumstantial evidence alone. Need something more concrete. We didn't even have a body. Police needed more, and to Josh's credit, he played them very well...
