Or he was essentially as advertised before personal problems
I don't know what people were expecting exactly from a smallish shooting guard with decent, but by no means great, athleticism.

If there's one of the three fans over-hyped, it was definitely Emery. His freshman year, he essentially delivered on what should've been his expectations. He needed to play with more discipline on both ends, but that's not incredibly-disappointing for a freshman to have had those issues. Presumably, they'd improve with more experience and coaching.

Mika was as good as advertised. Except he bailed.

Haws is a very good player, but he's the biggest disappointment to me. Why? I thought he'd develop some strength and athleticism to go with his obvious skill. Lee Cummard was ultimately limited by his slight frame, and the same is true for Haws. I thought the guy would add 20 pounds of muscle to his 6'6" frame and gain strength and explosiveness over his career. Based off his high school footage, I also thought TJ would become an absolutely deadly shooter vs. the streaky good player he is at present.

One of the LP3 initially met what his expectations should've been then ran into issues. It happens. Another--with the biggest upside of the three--met or exceeded then left early. The the last doesn't appear significantly, consistently better than he was the first day he took the floor BYU.

It's basically one big bummer.
