BYU football & basketball may have been at their all time peak from 2006-2011
National rankings in both sports, national player of the year awards, Sweet 16 bid, 5 bowl wins, rivalry wins, etc.
Unfortunately BYU didn't get a P5 bid (and I don't believe anyone on here knows all the reasons why) and the main sports have being going down hill ever since.
I'm not sure what Tom or anyone else was supposed to do differently. He got BYU into the best available western conference - unfortunately it isn't that sexy of a conference compared to the PAC 12. He has tried to put together a P5 lite schedule which has unfortunately caused the football program to struggle.

Possibly the hardest AD job in the country. He has to deal with expectations of a top tier P5 athletic department
