Yep. All we need to do is be better than we ever have been before.
Then the players will come!
In 8 years as an independent, we have played 12 regular season games against P5 teams (and Notre Dame) who have won 9 games or more. We have lost all of them.
In the previous 12 regular season games against such teams, which covers a span from 1991-2010, we won only one of them.
About 1/3 of P5s finish with 9 wins or more in any given year.
Add to that our rivalry with Boise St. A program that has won 10 games or more 80% of the time over the last 2 decades. Our most recent 20 year win percentage vs. teams that win 10 games or more is 0.095.
If we want to get back to winning 10 or 11 games, we need to be better than we ever have been with these schedules.
