people don't have to feel sad, just not anxious to make a joke. that has nothing
to do with hearing about too many tragedies but everything to do with a weird culture that social media is creating in society where it's all about the pithy comeback, the funny meme, the snide remark. People rush to be the first one in with a dig, to post a slap. I do it too sometimes. But it's kind of an ugly aspect of our 21st century culture.
