I don’t believe so. A nuclear reactor has a lot more expenses than other power
plants. Security costs are much higher, they’re practically a fortress, you have spent fuel to deal with, and anything that deals with the emergency core cooling system has to be maintained to a standard way above anything found at another power station. Changes required after 9/11 and Fukushima further increased costs.

Nuclear reactors continue to shut down all over the nation and hardly anything is being built. If they were financially competitive, I think you’d see a lot more being built. The country building the most right now is China where I imagine standards are much less and the government has a lot more control.
