...he hooked some of us up for a tour of Staples Center. We talked about a friend we have in common and then I jokingly asked if he'd be open to the BYU job when Rose eventually retires. He joked back only if he gets to focus recruiting on the LA area. He said something about how much talent is in SoCal. Anyway, it was just a light, quick exchange (he doesn't know me from Adam) and nothing serious was said in confidence so I feel okay sharing.

Main takeaways I guess being that he didn't immediately rule it out and that he seems to think SoCal is where the talent is. Not sure he'd be a target anyway and not sure we'd ever make LA/SoCal a main focus or be successful if we tried. 

He did seem like a cool guy and was really gracious to hook us up with the tour. The Staples Center and what they've done to revitalize that area of LA is pretty impressive.
