We do. They sell confidence rights to broadcast their sports. Everything we do has to be seen in the context of the complete package.
We sell BYU football. 7-10 million for home games
Some say we also get paid by espn for some road games against P5 schools.
We do rebroadcasts and have monitized this.
We show basketball and have monitized this
We can produce coordinated pre and post game shows because of our deal and we monitize that
We make money on afr
We make money on volleyball and because of the increased visibility of the platform this makes much more money than ever before
We even make money broadcasting baseball and softball. This is unheard of
Our last year in the MWC our athletic budget was 18 million less than it was two years later...... what changed? Independence and our ability to sell and control our product.
since then our revenues have risen about another 20 million. Some of this is donations and some from inflated ticket prices but a large portion has to be that the revenue we have been able to generate from BYUTV has increased significantly. These numbers will never be shared or reported, it’s the BYU way
I think we get a raise of about 9 million from espn and this will bring us into the ballpark of the low end P5’s
