I have both a Mac and PC. Windows machines can work just fine
However, this last weekend I spent 10 hours debugging a what turned out to be a bios issue on the windows box. My Mac has been much less maintenance than the windows machines I've owned over the years. I replaced the hard drive in the Mac a few years ago, but other than that, I've had very few issues. The limited ecosystem reduces potential issues with drivers and bios. For as disappointed as I am in their limited hardware, I don't need a super high end system. I've played with hackintosh before, even looking into it recently, and it's something you have to be dedicated to maintaining. A Mac really is a great low maintenance solution.
