I don't care or know what Utah does. But imo, BYU lacks traditions.
They are trying to get some with the pregame watching the players arrive thing and some of the stuff with the ROC, like the giant flags and things, the "y" hand signal but still kind of lacking. We don't have tailgating. Tailgating should be encouraged but I'm not sure how many people would show up. It would grow overtime I'm guessing. We don't have chants. I mean I guess we have Grandma Sycamore first downs, and we sing the fight song 10 times a game(well if we manage to score), but chants or songs are definitely lacking imo. I first noticed this a few years ago when we played West Virginia. As the fans we walking into the stadium they had chants and things they were all yelling out in unison. Texas A&M has a stupid number of chants and traditions.

Then you have the old people that will yell at you to sit down during critical moments of the game. Oh well, probably can't fix that one.

In the end though, the biggest problem is winning. Anything people try to start will be kind of lame if we are mediocre, and will catch on quick if we win.
