I have set up a new Plex server that my extended family will be using to archive and share our family videos and photos with each other. Not really using it much for ripping Blu Ray movies, although I probably will do that at some point.

I have started to put some videos in the plex folder and I can stream them from outside my network and all of that. I have set up port forwarding for port 32400 and all that. Works great.

My question is about naming convention and organization. There doesn't appear to be any folder structure in the Plex app, even though I have put the videos in sub folders by family. In other words, I will give each of my siblings a separate folder under which they will be able to host their family's videos. For my family folder, I have further subdivided by individual family member and/or family event (christmas, vacation, etc.). But those subfolders don't appear in the Plex app... it just shows all the videos together and sorts by last upload or something.

How do I organize this stuff? What naming convention do I use? I looked at the Plex site and it shows naming conventions for movies but not family videos.
