Yes, I was wondering how he was doing that part. I'm not aware of any part of the interface that allows for uploads.
But I don't pay for the premium version either.
In my case, I'm using a linux server (FreeNAS), so I could open up a port to allow external access, if I wanted.

IIRC, its not like YouTube. You can't upload files unless you have admin access

Yes, I was going to give family members SFTP access to their folder.

You have to create individual libraries. Just like you have a library for Movies or Photos, you can create a library

You can also within a library view by folder but it's really clunky
