I agree that booing in this situation is not good, but I also see the fans'
point of view as a big part of it is that Will thinks he is a lot better than he is. He takes a lot of bad shots, doesn't play team basketball and his defense is suspect.
I also respect a fan's ability to do what he/she wants when he/she pays the price of admission for professionals.
