We, as fans, need to come out fired up at the start of every game. We have not.
With lesser teams and/or when we have not performed well in a couple prior games, the fan base (generally) loses the fire. Students stop getting in line early for games. Fans stop showing up for Cougar Walk. Fans stop showing up for any pre-game activities. The stands are barren at kick off.
We can do better. We need to do better. We expect the players to start every game with the same energy and enthusiasm. We need to start every game with the same energy and enthusiasm.
This is step 1.
We can talk about step 2 of maintaining enthusiasm throughout the game after we are significantly better at step 1.
If we are fan enough to be on Cougarboard, we are fan enough to master step 1 without asking anthing else from the team.
