If they're going to be students, they must abide by the school's standards.
I don't know how you could argue otherwise without it being an utter dismissal of principles.

The only principled approach to doing what you're arguing is to move away from the NCAA into a direct to industry model--instead of getting an education, they'd just start getting paid in the minor leagues.

I'm fine with that. But if the kids want education, I can't get on board with 'cheating' to get a degree just because they're more likely to make a bunch of money after. That's just unethical...
