Wrong - people keep saying that, because it can't be proven or disproven, but
there is literally tons of evidence to the contrary. Some of you people seem to think that NBA scouts are like Gods who can look at "measurables" and determine who should get a chance and who shouldn't, but it's way more complex than that. Some of the best players to ever play the game - Larry Bird, Isaiah Thomas, Allen Iverson, Steph Currry, James Harden, Steve Nash, Charles Barkley, even Magic and John Stockton, didn't have eye popping "measurables." Were they still great athletes by most regular people standards? Of course, but just not over-the-top measurables. It's what they have / had between the ears, and in the guts that make them great, as it is with many players and many athletes. That being said, it's not to say that "measureables" mean nothing. They do. Guys like MJ, LBJ, Julius Irving, Wilt Chamberlain, etc are also good bets partially because of measurables (although they mostly also had the other intangibles, too).
These scouts are mostly just former has-been players who make judgement calls based on a few parameters, and they seldom take any risks - easy to go with "measurables" and often ignore the other stuff, hoping to get lucky once in a while. The reality is that the 3 players likely to be drafted out of Gonzaga are not significantly more talented than Yeoli, if at all (what would Yoeli look like alongside Clark, instead of Hashimura - likely pretty similar). But, they have good "measurables" (as does Yoeli - just not top ten range), and more importantly, were key players on a team that got a lot of exposure, and has a respected basketball pedigree. If Yoeli had stayed one more year, and been the star on a team that possibly won the Maui invitational, and / or otherwise got a lot of national exposure, especially with good showings against guys with similar NBA talent, that exposure would move him way further up the draft board than anything else. Some of you guys think it's all about the very astute and exacting evaluations by NBA scouts / Gods and GM's, when it's much more of a popularity contest, and political game (ie if you play for Kentucky or Duke), and marketability than it is pure raw predictable talent.
