They make what they're worth. They extended their NBC contract because
that was a fair offer for what they're worth.
They don't do game-day ads because the loss of donations by annoyed old Golden Domers is not offset by the increased game-day revenue.
Networks pay more for volume. They like having live sports. 14 teams are worth more, per team, than one great team. That's why EVERY SINGLE P5 conference pays more TV money to their member schools than Notre Dame gets from their TV deal.
