I built a new home every two years while living in S.G. as the owner builder

with the market so hot, it would be a little more difficult and you would have to get competing bids from the subcontractors. I don't know if you could save 30% that you would certainly save enough to make it worth your while. After I did at one time, I was able to find a general contractor to sign on the permit for a small fee, and then basically allow me to run the business and pay the subcontractors. As long as I hired licensed subcontractors, the GC was okay with it.
