The fastest kid (Nathan Kaufusi) didn't run in the 4x100 meter because they didn't need him there to win that race. He was used in the 100, 200, 400 and 4x400 relay to help the team earn 40 points with his events.

Strategy. The fastest kid in Utah 6A didn't run in the 4x100 relay. They won the race without him.
